If you have never heard of Dynmap, it’s essentially a live Google Map view of your own Minecraft world that is accessible via web browser with a variety of extra features — sounds pretty cool right?!

(As it turns out, our beta testers love TNT!)

Installation:

Dynmap installs like any other plugin on Minecraft but requires an administrator to open an additional server port number for web browser functionality.

  1. navigate to your server in our control panel https://cp.snakecrafthosting.com
  2. using our [How Do I get an Additional Port] guide you will need to assign an additional port to your server, like the guide says if you have run out of allocations you may open a support ticket here requesting another port for your server.
  3. Now download the latest version of Dynmap here unzip it if you need to and place it somewhere memorable (eg Documents).
  4. Within Control Panel go to Files and navigate to the “/home/container/plugins” path you should be able to see a folder called "plugins" click on that.
  5. Open your computers file manager app locate Dynmap then just drag and drop your Dynmap.jar file into the centre of your browser window and wait for it to upload.
  6. Once that has finished go back to the Console tab by clicking Console on the left-hand site and restart your server with the restart_btn.png button.
  7. now you need to repeat step 4 and go back to your plugins folder you should now see another folder in there called dynmap click on that then click on the configuration.txt file
  8. Now that is open press ctrl + f or cmd + f for mac to enable find enter "webserver-port" into the search box and click enter

  9. once you have done that replace 8123 with the additional port you have allocated scroll down and click the save_content_btn.png and repeat step 6
  10. When your server has restarted you can type the hostname : then the port into your web browser and dynmap should appear you can now run "dynmap fullrender <worldname>" or in your Minecraft server as op to render your world.
  11. Enjoy!
