What is a Dedicated IP?
A dedicated IP is a unique address that is not shared with other servers. It utilizes the default port 25565, so when you connect to your Minecraft server you do not have to type in the IP and port number. For example, instead of typing 192.168.52.4:25565 you only have to do 192.168.52.4.
A dedicated IP may be necessary if you are looking to create a subdomain and cannot get the SRV method to work, or if you simply would like Minecraft to run on the default port.
How Do I Get a Dedicated IP?
To order a dedicated IP with us, simply select the Dedicated IP (Submit Ticket) add-on under Available Addons during the checkout process. We will work quickly to get a dedicated IP set up for your server and it will be applied automatically.
NOTE: This item is a paid addon and costs $3/month.
We will update your ticket status once the IP is applied. From now on, instead of seeing US-MI1.SCHOST.US under the Connection tab within the Control Panel, you will see your brand new dedicated IP address.
