How does RackGenius’s affiliate program work?
After becoming an approved affiliate, you will have a unique affiliate link in the Customer Portal. You can provide this unique link to anyone who wants services with us. You can post this link responsibly on platforms such as Youtube, Twitch, Facebook, and Discord. When someone places an order for a game server using your link, you will receive a 12% recurring commission on their order. For other service like VPS's and web hosting, you earn 5% recurring commission. Dedicated servers earn 3% recurring commission.
For example, a $10 game server would earn $1.20 in FREE credits.
Who can join the affiliate program?
To join, you must be at least 18 years old and have a RackGenius account in good standing. If your account is suspended or has unpaid or overdue invoices, you may not be able to earn or redeem commission until that is resolved.
How do I become an affiliate?
To become an affiliate, you must create an account on our Customer Portal and click on the Affiliates tab.
Where can I find my link?
Your link can be found in your account in the Customer Portal on the Affiliates page.
How long is my affiliate link tracked?
When someone clicks your affiliate link, we store a cookie in their browser that is valid for 90 days. If they place a new service order within those 90 days, the order is credited to you. Only new service orders placed through your link earn commission. If the customer clicked more than one affiliate link, the most recent link gets the credit. The customer must complete the order through your link for it to count.
When do I get my commission?
The commission is paid 14 days after the payment is processed. This prevents fraud and ensures the customer hasn’t acted on the 7-day money-back guarantee. You may redeem the commission for credits once you earn more than $10 USD in your “Available Commissions Balance.” If redeeming for cash, the minimum withdrawal balance is $75 USD.
Is the commission only one time per order?
No, the commission is recurring so long the customer maintains the active service with us!
What happens if a customer I referred cancels or closes their account?
Your commission is recurring for as long as the customer keeps the service active. If the customer cancels a service, nothing happens to the commission you have already earned. However, if the customer closes their RackGenius account, all affiliate commission tied to that customer may be voided.
Can I use my own domain or a link shortener?
Yes, but it is not meant to disguise the link as an official RackGenius link. You must also disclose that the link is an affiliate.
Are there rules on how I can promote my link?
Yes. You can share your link on your own website, videos, streams, and social media, as long as you follow the rules below. The following are not allowed and will result in loss of commission and possible removal from the program:
- Spam of any kind, including unsolicited email, direct messages, or forum posts.
- Bidding on “RackGenius” or similar terms in paid search ads.
- Cookie stuffing, fake clicks, or any attempt to generate commission dishonestly.
- Misleading claims about our services, pricing, or promotions.
- Posting your link on adult, piracy, or other harmful or illegal websites.
- Presenting your link as an official RackGenius link, or hiding that it is an affiliate link.
You must always disclose that your link is an affiliate link.
Can I have my commission paid to PayPal or my financial institution?
By default, commissions are paid as credits toward services at RackGenius. If you have a significant following or online presence, you can request a cash payout to PayPal. Open a ticket and we will review your account and set this up. Before we release a cash payout, we need the correct tax form on file. Any transaction fees are also taken out of your payout. See the questions below for details.
What tax information do I need to provide to receive a payout?
Before your first cash payout, we need to collect a tax form from you. This is a one-time step. The form stays valid for a few years, and we may ask for an updated one after that. The form you fill out depends on where you are based:
- US-based affiliates (US citizens, residents, and US businesses) are treated as 1099 contractors. You will fill out a Form W-9. If your total payouts in a calendar year reach the IRS reporting threshold, you will get a Form 1099-NEC for your records.
- Affiliates outside the United States fill out a Form W-8BEN if you are an individual, or a Form W-8BEN-E if you are a business or entity. This certifies your foreign tax status.
You give these forms to RackGenius and we keep them on file. You do not send them to the IRS yourself. We cannot release a payout until the correct signed form is on file, so please send it in as soon as your payout is approved.
Are there any fees for receiving a payout?
Yes. Any fees to process a payout, such as PayPal fees, come out of your payout amount. RackGenius does not cover these fees. The amount you receive will be your commission minus any processing or transfer fees.
Can a payout be declined, held, or reversed?
Yes. All commissions are subject to review, and we run an account audit before any payout is released. This applies to both cash payouts and credits. We may decline, void, hold, suspend, or reverse a payout at any time. This includes cases such as suspected fraud, self-referrals, program abuse, chargebacks, refunds, or any violation of our terms. Approval of one payout does not guarantee approval of future payouts. Closing your account results in an immediate and irreversible voiding of all affiliate pending balance.
Do my affiliate credits or commission expire?
No. Your affiliate credits and earned commission do not expire, even if your account is inactive for a period of time.
Does every service count for my affiliate commission?
Yes, services such as dedicated servers (3%) or VPSs (5%) have lower rates.
Can I use my affiliate URL when purchasing services on my account?
No, you will only receive commissions from accounts other than your own.
Can these terms change?
Yes. RackGenius may change the commission rates or the terms of the affiliate program, or end the program, at any time. Any changes take effect when posted on this page.
